Controller and contact
The controller of personal data processed in connection with this website is Camila Hernández Martínez. For privacy enquiries, write to contacto@camilahernandez.es.
Data we process
When you visit the website, the server and security tools may record technical data such as your IP address, the date and time, the page requested and browser information. These data are used to deliver the page and detect incidents or abusive access. If you email us, we process your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. The website does not offer a contact form, newsletter subscription or public user registration.
Purposes and legal bases
Technical data are used to provide, maintain and protect the website. The legal basis is the controller’s legitimate interest in its operation and security (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Email data are used to respond to and follow up on the communication you initiate. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in handling that communication (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). These data are not used for advertising or profiling.
Recipients and service providers
Providers needed for website hosting, email and backups may access the data strictly necessary to provide those services. Website backups are stored using Google Drive; the service may involve data processing outside the European Economic Area. You can request information about the providers and applicable safeguards from the controller by email. Links to publications, academic profiles and social networks take you to third-party websites. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Retention
Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and, afterwards, for any period required to meet legal obligations or address possible claims. Technical logs are kept for as long as needed for operation, security and incident resolution, in accordance with the providers’ settings.
Audience measurement
The website uses CHM Analytics to understand its audience and improve its content. It collects daily counters for page views and language, the referring domain when supplied by the browser, an approximate device category based on screen width, section selections, and clicks on publications, profiles and contact actions. Clicking to copy the email address or open an email application does not tell us whether a message was sent. The purpose is to manage and improve this website; the legal basis for any technical data processed during collection is the controller’s legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
CHM Analytics stores only aggregate counters on the website’s hosting service. It does not store IP addresses, visitor identities, full referring URLs or individual browsing histories; it does not use analytics cookies, local storage for analytics or persistent identifiers across visits. It does not send these data to an external analytics service or combine browsing activity across websites. To validate requests, it uses a different random token for each page load, valid for no more than one hour; its temporary state expires and is automatically deleted. Counters are retained for 13 months and removed through the website’s automatic cleanup; backups have their own retention periods. Visits by users logged in to WordPress, recognised bots and browsers sending Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are excluded. You may object to processing by emailing the contact address. The hosting service’s technical logs described in this policy are separate from the CHM Analytics counters.
Website preferences
Your light or dark appearance preference may be saved in your browser’s local storage so that it is remembered on future visits. This preference is not used to identify you or create a profile.
Your rights
You may request access to, rectification or erasure of your data, restriction of processing and, where applicable, data portability. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email contacto@camilahernandez.es and state which right you wish to exercise. If you believe your rights have not been respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
Changes
This policy may be updated if the website’s services or data processing change. The current version will be available on this page.
